A free mini-documentary series about the jiu-jitsu gyms, instructors, and students of Williamson County and the surrounding area. No cost. No catch. Each feature is 60–90 seconds, plus 2–3 short social clips.
Nominate your gymJiu-jitsu academies are some of the strongest communities in Central Texas — and most of them are too busy running classes to tell their own story. The Groundwork exists to fix that.
We travel gym to gym, spend a session on your mats, and produce a mini-documentary feature about your academy: a 60–90 second main story followed by 2–3 shorter social clips. You get everything we make. It costs you nothing.
Hobbyists or competitors — the best stories are everywhere. We're here to find them.
There's no sales pitch waiting at the end. Garcia Groundwork Media is run by an educator with 20+ years of teaching experience who also coaches and trains jiu-jitsu. That background in storytelling and community-building is in every frame we shoot.
A 60–90 second documentary feature on your academy — the story of the gym, in your own words, cut for Instagram and YouTube.
An instructor spotlight, a student story, or a program highlight — standalone reels you can post over the following weeks.
A set of edited photos from the session for your website, socials, and flyers.
Everything is yours to publish on your own channels. We post the feature on ours and tag your academy — reach both audiences.
Nominate your gym — or someone else's. A short call to hear what makes your academy worth telling, and we pick a class to film.
One on-site session, about 1–2 hours. We film a class, sit down with an instructor, and talk to a student or two. We stay out of the way.
Within two weeks, you get the mini-doc, reels, and photos. You approve everything before it goes public.
Featured gyms per month. This series is filmed, edited, and produced by one person around a full teaching schedule — so slots are limited and filled in order. Reach out early.
Garcia Groundwork Media is a founder-led, family-owned studio in Central Texas. Founder Eduardo Garcia is a professor and doctor of education who coaches youth jiu-jitsu, bringing twenty years of teaching, storytelling, and community-building to every academy he films.
The name is literal. In jiu-jitsu, groundwork is where matches are won. In a community, groundwork is the unglamorous, consistent effort everything else is built on. That's what this series is.
Own an academy? Train at one that deserves the spotlight? Coach a program nobody's heard of yet? Tell us about it. Owner, coach, or student — anyone can nominate.
